Forestville, NY, April 25, 2017 - Merritt Estate Winery received three awards from the Pacific Rim International Wine Competition in April.  Best of Class for their Bella Rosa and Gold Medals for their Vidal Ice and XTC wines, this was the first time XTC dessert wine was entered in competition.
Founded in 1985 and held each year at the National Orange Show Events Center, the Pacific Rim International Wine Competition began with a goal to implement an unbiased evaluation of wines to assist wineries with the marketing and reputation of their product.  A diverse panel of winery, restaurant and media outlet experts participated in a two-day blind tasting to award Bronze, Silver, Gold, Best of Class, Best of Show and Grand Champion titles to the wines submitted.
All countries, bonded wineries, importers, licensed negociants and custom crush growers who make their wine commercially are eligible to compete.  Pacific Rim International Wine Competition not only judges wine but strives to educate the public about their award-winning wines through events held during the year.
Merritt Estate Winery was one of more than 200 wineries entered in this competition.  President of Merritt Estate Winery Bill Merritt exclaims, "It's wonderful to have our wines recognized by an excellent wine competition in California."
