Merritt Winery

FORESTVILLE, N.Y. (September 15, 2009) – Another successful Septemberfest took place at Merritt Estate Winery in Forestville, NY this past weekend on September 12 and 13.

Merritt Winery teamed up with Camp Good Days and Special Times, Inc. of Western New York, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life challenges.

A silent auction and Chinese raffle took place on Saturday afternoon that raised money to benefit Camp Good Days. Money was also raised through parking donations and tip containers placed in various locations throughout the winery grounds.

Celebrity spokesperson for Camp Good Days, Paul Gaustad of the Buffalo Sabres was unable to make an appearance due to new commitments. But, personal appearances were made by Danny Gare, Buffalo Sabres Alumni, and Baby Joe Mesi, former #1 contender to the WBC boxing heavyweight title. They were available throughout Saturday afternoon for a personal meet and greet and to sign autographs.

Dennis Williams, account executive for Channel 2 news, was in attendance and was on stage during the event between bands to hype up the crowd.

Merritt Winery hosted a classic car and motorcycle cruise-in throughout the weekend featuring the Lake Shore Streetrods. Live music was played Saturday by Black Widow, Matt Maloof, and Willow Creek. Sunday, Heard of Buffalo played throughout the afternoon and Sean Patrick McGraw played into the evening. Sean took a break from his nation-wide tour with Toby Keith to play at the winery and a few other local events during the weekend.
